Dr. Amanda Sahar d’Urso is an assistant professor of government at Georgetown University.

Her research investigates how politics shapes the construction of racial and ethnic identities. Her book project is on the ethnoracial formation of Middle Easterners and North Africans (MENA) throughout the 20th and 21st century in the United States, despite being legally categorized as ‘White.’

Her scholarly work is published in journals such as theAmerican Political Science Review, Perspectives on Politics, and the Journal of Race and Ethnic Politics. She has also published public outlets such as The Washington Post, Good Authority, and The Monkey Cage.
